Why carry a quart when ounces will do?

Cameras
GPDMS_MotorLogo_400.jpg Got Video?

So why is BestRest selling cameras?  The GoPro Digital Hero 3 camera is an item every motorcyclist can use. We carry one whenever we ride, recording the interesting roads and trails we travel.  We thought you'd enjoy making your own videos (as much as we do) so we put 'em up on the website.

The GoPro Digital Hero 3 is a three megapixel wrist camera that’s waterproof to 100'... for motorcyclists it means you can still ride in the rain and take photos or videos without damaging an expensive camera. We really like this waterproof feature for those occasional deep water crossings. (don't ask)

Now you can mount a camera on your helmet - the Motorsports Version

There's two versions of the GoPro camera - the original Wrist Mounted version, and the new Motorsports Version.

The Hero 3 takes high resolution 2048 x 1536 photos using an f2.8 lens. Automatic metering compensates for most lighting conditions.

You can strap it on your wrist so it's always at your fingertips. Or you can strap it to the bike and record yourself in the saddle as you ride your favorite roads or trails. With a little imagination you can attach it to your handlebar, footpeg, crash bar, saddlebag, etc. You could even Velcro it to your helmet for a bird's eye view of the instruments and roadway.

There’s a 10 second self-timer mode, a 3-shot burst mode, and a 1-shot-every-5-seconds mode that’ll take snapshots all day long. (A pretty cool feature in our opinion since it gives you a running record of your ride)

Want to take videos? In this mode the Hero 3 takes high quality 640 x 480 action videos, recording up to 54 minutes using a 2GB SD card (not included). Carry some extra cards and you could record an entire day’s ride, then download it to your laptop and post it on your blog.

You simply won’t believe the small size of the Hero 3 – it’s much smaller than a pack of smokes. The camera measures only 2.4” wide x 1.4” high x 1.2 deep. The waterproof plastic case is only slightly larger. Weight is a mere 4.5 ounces.

Don’t confuse this Hero 3 camera with some other obsolete Hero cameras being sold at discount stores - they're dumping old tech. This Hero 3 is the newest offering from GoPro and has all the latest and greatest advanced features, including an improved sound card with a Hi/Lo setting.

We wish we’d had this camera when we rode to Alaska and the Arctic Ocean. No it wouldn’t take the place of our expensive digital camera and telephoto lenses (which were usually buried in the tankbag to protect them against the elements). Instead the Hero 3 would’ve been mounted on the handlebars, taking continuous snapshots of our mis-adventures.

You can catch some video clips taken using the Hero 3 by clicking here: YouTube GoPro Hero 3 , and Red Canyon

The Hero 3 runs off 2 AAA batteries (included). For longest battery life and camera performance we recommend getting your own set of rechargeable Lithium or NiMH batteries.

Other features include a USB / RCA TV cable, and a WIN ME/2000/XP and Mac OS 9.1/10.2 compatible operating system.

The Hero 3 is warranted for 1 year by GoPro.  Want some samples of the top quality photos and video you can capture using the Hero 3?  Click here:  BestRest's SmugMug Site

When you click back to our order form, scroll down to the bottom of the page to find the the Hero 3 camera - it's the last item on the page.

Here's some photos we took on a recent ride around Bryce Canyon UT, using the Hero 3.
