Our ToolPlates replace the stock plastic tool tray and lid and give you TWICE the tool storage space.  Beneath the ToolPlate, our new ToolPouch holds everything securely in place and protects your tools against the elements.

Photo below shows the tools we carry beneath a ToolPlate. This assortment includes ALL the standard BMW tools and tire patch kit. We've added 3 extra CO2 cartridges, 3 extra tire plugs, a tire inflation tool, a 10' siphon hose, a full set of wrenches, and electrical tape. Compare this kit to the limited number of tools you can fit in BMW's stock plastic tub! BMW's approach to tool storage has all the tools laid out in neatly organized individual holders. While this method looks nice, it's an inefficient use of space. By contrast, our design maximizes storage space by utilizing every nook and cranny beneath the seat. The ToolPouch expands where space allows and provides maximum storage area.  NO, it doesn't interfere with the stock seat latch mechanism.

The "SOLO" ToolPlate is named for its solo, one-up riding function.  The Solo gives you maximum usable cargo area because it's wider than the Dual version, and because it has handy tie-down slots along the sides and at the front so you can securely strap down your gear.  It screws down at the rear and locks to the bike with the stock passenger seat latch.

To fit the Solo you'll need to remove the passenger seat.   On those occasions when your passenger is aboard, simply remove the Solo and install the seat.  The seat will hold the ToolPouch in place and prevent any tools from being lost.

The Solo won't work with a Classic or Sprint BackRest, but it will work with the EZRest BackRest.  The EZRest bolts onto the top of the Solo, giving the rider comfortable back support for those long days in the saddle.

The "DUAL" ToolPlate is named for its dual-purpose role for both rider and passenger. The Dual works with both models of BackRests for rider comfort, and allows installation of the passenger seat. The square cutout allows the passenger seat hook to pass thru the Dual ToolPlate and latch to the seat lock assembly below.

The passenger seat fits over the ToolPlate without interference.  Solo riders can remove the passenger seat and strap cargo down to the ToolPlate. The round silver fitting at the rear holds the ToolPlate to the frame.  The square plastic fitting is the BMW seat lock. ToolPlates does NOT come with a metal or plastic tool tray, instead your tools are held securely in our new ToolPouch - a waterproof Cordura zippered bag, specially designed to fit between the frame rails.

Riders with earlier versions of the ToolPlate can replace their old foam liners the new ToolPouch. Tools and storage tube aren't included.   All new ToolPlates come with this pouch.

The HexKeyRing is a combination 5mm hex wrench and key ring.  You need a 5mm hex wrench to open or close the ToolPlate.  Put your motorcycle key on this keyring and you'll always have easy access to your ToolPlate. 

You can also use the HexKeyRing for minor adjustments to your BackRest.

A HexKeyRing is included as standard equipment with every ToolPlate, but you can order extras if needed.
