F800GS LightGuard (also fits F650GS-twin)
A small rock can easily damage the headlight lens - and a replacement lens will cost you nearly $500, plus labor. How about spending a few bucks to prevent that scenario? Cheap insurance, for sure.
The F800GS LightGuard protects both headlight lenses with a sturdy 3/16" plexiglass shield that easily deflects sticks, stones, or other road debris.
One of our customers wrote an interesting product review, featuring the F800GS LightGuard. You can follow that thread here: BestRest F800GS LightGuard
The LightGuard plexiglass panel is held 1" from the headlight lens to maximize protection. Unlike other designs using thick plastic "stick-on" protectors, or plastic panels held closely against the headlight with velcro, the LightGuard is engineered so it absorbs the force of the impact without transmitting kinetic energy rearward into the glass lens. No other headlight protection system works as well as the LightGuard, not even those wire mesh protectors you see in another catalogue.

We've been using a similar system on the R12GS for several years, and we've received hundreds of reports on how effective it is. You can't argue with success. But many of our customers wanted an easier way to remove the shield so they could clean the back side of the shield and the headlight lens. We listened. We redesigned. Now, a combination of four quick release pins and rubber bushings hold the protective shield in place. With this new quick-release mounting system, removal of the shield for cleaning (or replacement) takes only seconds. Pull 4 cotter pins and the shield comes off, no tools required.
BestRest's exclusive rubber seal forms an opaque light barrier between the plexiglass panel and the top of the headlight housing. This seal prevent light from reflecting off the back of the shield, into the rider's line-of-sight. This system is so effective that it's been copied by other manufacturers. How flattering.

Constructed from satin finish stainless steel, the F800GS LightGuard installs in minutes. There's no modification to the motorcycle.
Need a replacement rubber seal? It's the same as the one we use for the R12GS. Click here: Replacement rubber seal
